Lyrical & Contemporary
Lyrical is combination of ballet technique and jazz style utilizing fluid movement and musicality to tell a story. Lyrical classes consist of a full warm up followed by a combination to gain style and choreography retention. Lyrical classes are offered for dancers in 3 levels based on age. Please refer to the class schedule below to find the Lyrical class that is appropriate for your dancer.
Contemporary is a style of dance focused on the musicality and dynamics of movement. Contemporary dance utilizes formal technical training coupled with unique choreography and improvisation. Contemporary classes consist of a full warm up followed by a combination to gain style and choreography retention. Please refer to the class schedule below to find the contemporary class that is appropriate for your dancer.
Dress Code
The dress code for all Performance Division lyrical & contemporary classes is based on the following options, but is up to the dancer as to what they’re most comfortable in. Dress code is similar to a jazz class and includes leotards, leggings, dance shorts, bra tops, tank tops, and other tight fitting athletic shirts. Dancers do not wear shoes for lyrical or contemporary class.
